Ofsted visited our school for a full inspection under Ofsted’s new grading framework on 6th & 7th January 2026. We are pleased that Ofsted recognised that we are STRONG in all areas.

A Culture of Excellence: The report awards a Strong Standard to Leadership and Governance, Achievement, Attendance and Behaviour, Curriculum and Teaching, Inclusion, Post 16 Provision and Personal Development and Well-being.

Inspectors noted:

• Achievement: “All pupils achieve grades well above the national average across all subjects at GCSE and A level.”
  “Pupils make excellent progress from their starting points across the school.”

• Curriculum: “Subject leaders are experts. They share their passion for subjects with teachers and pupils.”
  “The curriculum is broad and very ambitious. Teachers explain complex concepts clearly.” “Pupils work together to solve problems and develop a love of learning.”

• Post 16 (A-Level): “Teacher subject knowledge is a strength.”
  “Staff explain knowledge precisely and balance this with probing questions that make students think hard. All this fosters a culture of learning, where students value teachers highly.”

• Personal Development: “Careers education provision is excellent.” 
  “Leaders provide an extensive & inclusive personal development programme & thrive through a wide range of extracurricular activities.”

• Inclusion: “Inclusion is strengthened by a staff culture, where support for disadvantaged pupils is ‘everyone’s job’.” 
  “Support is comprehensive they are fully prepared for their next academic steps.”

• Leadership: “They (leadership) continue to drive excellence and support staff to develop professionally.” 
  “Staff & pupils were positive about the notable impac that new leadership has already made.”
