Osprey House News

Welcome to Osprey House

Originally from Northern Ireland, I am a teacher of Science at Key Stage 3 and Biology at Key Stages 4 and 5. I have worked at ICHS since 2002 and enjoyed being Head of Year (10 and 11) for 7 years before we implemented the House system. I have played rugby in the past and now support Northampton Saints.

My claim to fame is meeting Chris Ashton, Ben Foden and Dylan Hartley who all play rugby for England. I also love photography, music and the theatre.

Osprey House

The house is known for its all-round capability. Students are active and engaged with their learning. They are thoughtful and kind to others.

  • Ospreys are surprisingly tolerant of regular activity, such as passing vehicles, but they are extremely nervous of unusual activity; hence, there can be a risk of nests being deserted following disturbance, both intentional and accidental.

  • When on migration, they travel through Spain on their journey to the UK.

  • This particular fish-eating bird of prey is an amber list species because of its historical decline (due to killing), and low breeding numbers.
