In the summer of 1902 the first pupils left full time education at the newly-built Park Higher Grade School and, from this point, the Old Parkonians story began.

With considerable commitment from staff at the School an Old Boys’ Football Club was established in those early days of the last century, followed in 1906 by the formation of the Old Parkonians Cricket Club.

In so many ways it has been a remarkable journey from those humble beginnings to where we are today, not least the magnificent Pavilion that we now enjoy at Oakfield. The common denominator has always been, and still remains, the inextricable link between The Old Boys and the School and the commitment of the Headmasters in promoting the Association over the decades.

This unique relationship has most recently been demonstrated by the excellent School Centenary celebrations when so many former pupils, teachers and parents re-acquainted themselves with their school memories. The Old Boys played a very active part in the many events which took place during this special year, and the School and the Association jointly recognised the opportunities that now exist from the many contacts that were established during 2001/2002.

Now that we are fully ensconced in the 21st century we have ambitious plans to provide ever increasing benefits to the members of the Old Parkonians Association and to develop a wider range of activities associated with that membership, complementing the well-established sporting activities of the Association’s affiliated clubs.

Whether you are still local to the area or have moved further afield, we have a strong commitment to stay in touch through regular publications and newsletters and the fast-developing Old Parkonians Website.

These are exciting times for the Old Parkonians.
